I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and registered associate Professional Clinical Counselor, college professor, mother, and pet parent!
Before pursuing a career in counseling / therapy, I had been an anthropology professor for 6 years. My anthropology (and literature) background led me to be very interested in human behavior and psychology, essentially why we act the way we do, and why / how that is dependent on our environment. Further, having experienced a significant amount of trauma and adversity in my own life, and starting my own therapy in my thirties, I went back to school to see how I could help others overcome their own hardships. While I continue to teach, mostly online, I now put most of my time in being a therapist.
Having my own kids has really opened my eyes to working with kids and parents, as well as parents navigating parenting with difficult partners, as single parents, or as new parents who feel completely lost.
I also really enjoy working with those who have previously received therapy before and want to dive deeper than what they experienced with their past therapist.
Licensed and serving clients in California and Oregon.
